Named after Seymon Kirlian, an amateur inventor and electrician from Russia, the process of Kirlian photography was pioneered by him in the early 1940s.

The process ‘captures’ the auras or biofields of persons or objects on photographic material and the technique involves the photographing of subjects in the presence of a high-frequency, high-voltage, low-amperage-electrical field, which display glowing, multicoloured emanations.......... the aura, or biofield.
